Open Access Policy

The East African Journal of Research and Innovation (EAJRI) is an open-access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription or access charges. Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Focus and Scope

EAJRI publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research across disciplines with a strong emphasis on innovation and practical impact. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Health and Life Sciences

  • Engineering, ICT, and Emerging Technologies

  • Business, Economics, and Management

  • Education and Social Sciences

  • Environmental and Agricultural Sciences

  • Policy, Governance, and Sustainable Development

The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, technical reports, and policy analyses.

Authors who publish with EAJRI agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

  2. Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal’s published version of the work (e.g., posting to institutional repositories, book chapters), with proper acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to share their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on personal websites) to increase visibility and citation impact.

Sponsorship and Funding Disclosure

The journal is currently independently managed by the Editorial Board without external funding. Sponsorships, if any, do not influence editorial decisions. All articles are accepted solely based on academic merit and peer review.

History of the Journal

The East African Journal of Research and Innovation (EAJRI) was established on August 18, 2025, with the mission of providing a credible platform for interdisciplinary research and innovation emerging from Africa and beyond. From its inception, the journal has embraced open access and international collaboration to ensure the broad dissemination of impactful research.

Archiving Policy

EAJRI is committed to long-term preservation of published content. The journal participates in the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS digital preservation systems, ensuring that all articles remain permanently accessible even in the event of the journal’s discontinuation. In addition, authors are encouraged to deposit copies of their articles in institutional or subject-based repositories.
